Guiding Children on the Use of the Internet and Social Media

You are invited to a lecture presenting practical ideas on ways to raise children wisely while they use modern devices like computers and smart phones. Topics that are covered include growth of intelligence and life skills, bullying, permanent digital profiles, video games, sexting, ADD and addictive behaviours.

Many adolescents are literally losing themselves in the virtual world and losing interest in real life. Is the internet hurting your children? Do you know where your child is surfing on the internet?

Experts recognise a rapid increase in internet bullying. Has your child experienced cyber bullying? How can young users be protected and yet still optimize the benefits of the internet?

Christine Rovers is a trained educator and has taught children from preschool through to high school level including gifted children.
