Every year on April 22nd ‘Earth Day’ is celebrated in over 175 countries. We from ‚The World Foundation for Natural Science‘ are now doing this for the 25th time since our Founder, The Most Rev. Dr. Peter W. Leach-Lewis, Ch.D. brought forth this unique organisation on February 10th, 1993.
We honour Mother Earth. Mother for mankind’s billions, our planetary Home, from which we draw our present lives. We breathe in the Divine Order of Her Being and feel how it heals us. Uniting with Her permeates our entire communal life with Her essence. When joining our hearts with Hers, we feel the warmth and the power of Her Being.
With gratitude and appreciation we receive our life from Mother Earth. For because She is, we are here. Her waters flow unceasing, so clear and so pure. The trees of many a glorious forest and the riches we draw from within the perfection of Her precious soil, give us life that She breathes into us and we may also breathe forth the power of life that is also ours. Thus shalt She and we, in harmony, create a better world—for all life —to turn this schoolroom into a showroom.
Without Her we would not have total being. Even in the tiniest particle of soil there is life. There is no such thing as an inanimate object. Despite what has been created by man it has to first and foremost have been formed from those basic substances that had initially come from God — with the help of the four fundamental building blocks of creation: water, air, earth and fire. Whereby the first element is love. After all we are here on Earth in order to learn through experiences how to make choices, how to create and how to control energy.—Not only for our own sake, but for all creation.
Perfection is the ultimate goal of life. It is up to us to have dominion over everything on this level of life. For God has chosen us by saying, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and the cattle and over the entire earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth!” And God created man in His image, in the divine image He created him; male and female He created them (1. Moses 1:26-27). Now what does it mean to be a ruler? Does it empower us to exploit and poison the earth in a way that She is destroyed? Who would nourish our bodies and provide us with the beauty and variety, not to speak of all the natural herbs and plants to heal us? From where would we then get enough oxygen to breathe and clean sweet water to quench our thirst?
May we learn to express that same constancy and selfless love, as Mother Earth has been doing for eons. Together we can succeed in creating these paradisiacal conditions again. But as always, what it takes is the individual decision to be part of such a community, committing oneself to the well-being of the planet with all its inhabitants. It takes the decision to be prepared, to pull in the same direction in order to re-establish balance in Nature. Each and everyone can contribute in one way or another. It can begin with a ‘Pledge to Mother Earth’ and it is, of course, a great joy, if you support us as a member of The World Foundation for Natural Science or help us with your donation so that we can fulfill our tasks.
We hereby invite you to make together with us, every day an ‘Earth Day’ by reminding ourselves of our actions and appreciation of Mother Earth and standing up for Her. To provide people with a new outlook on a better future of our planet, there are going to be various activities on the occasion of ‘Earth Day’. Please get yourself a general overview with the calendar of events on our website or call us so that we can inform you about the offers in the various countries and regions. Especially would we like to direct your attention onto ‘Arbor Day’. We are going to celebrate it this year on Friday, April 27th, 2018 with the invitation: “Plant a tree!”.
As an inspiration we present to you the picture “If the Earth was only a few feet in diameter” as well as the fascinating video-clips of “Nature is speaking” and some impressions from our activities in past years on ‘Earth Day’.
