Today’s use of the forests is mainly determined by economic interests; be it because of sugar cane, organic gasoline, soy, animal husbandry or to use wood as raw material.
We aim to make people aware of the reasons for deforestation and – since demand determines the market – to ask them to adopt an ethical consumer behaviour. We are also trying to get the wood industry to adopt ethical and moral principles. Intensive deforestation is mainly going on in underprivileged countries and the people there typically do it because they are fighting for their bare necessities. Therefore, it is important not to fight against deforestation without trying to bring about positive solutions for the sustainable use of the woods and forests together with the local people.
We hold the thought that people will honour and appreciate once again the riches that the forests have to offer and that the forests are used sensible all over the world.
